Hydraulic Starters
Kocsis Hydraulic Starters produce higher torque and speed resulting in faster, more efficient engine starting. With the addition of a Beryllium Copper pinion, the hydraulic starter meets the requirements of Class 1, Div. 1 environments. Unlike alternative starting methods, Strumco Hydraulic Starting Systems are nearly unaffected by extreme temperatures. With the use of the hand pump, Kocsis Hydraulic Starting Systems are capable of overcoming a “Black Start” condition proving to be critical during emergency situations. Due to constant lubrication of the moving parts, Kocsis Hydraulic Starting Systems often survive the life of the engine, which results in less “lifetime cost” when compared to other starting methods.

Piston Accumulators
Strumco Air Starters offer a standard line of piston accumulators in 3,000 psi, 5,000 psi, and 10,000 psi. Kocsis Technologies, Inc. not only manufactures standard piston accumulators, but also have extensive experience with custom units covering capacities up to 400 gallons and pressures up to 35,000 psi.
* *Important Note: ASME Section VIII rules dictate that we cannot supply a certified accumulator with the fuse assembly installed. Therefore KT-208498 must be purchased as a separate line item. The fuse must be installed by the customer.

Kocsis Hydraulic Filters
This high pressure filter, made of high strength, seamless carbon steel tubing is typically mounted between the pump and the accumulator. This in-line filter provides 40 micron (In-Line) filtration with minimal flow restriction. Contact Strumco Hydraulic Starters for more Information.This low pressure filter, made of high strength, seamless carbon steel tubing is easily mounted to the hand pump suction line. With a 40 micron rated filter element, this component provides the right amount of filtration with minimal flow restriction.

Hand Pumps
The Kocsis Technologies, Inc. hand pump is a manual pump capable of regenerating system pressure for a starting attempt. Equipped with a 3 foot lever, the manual pump operates on “human” power and can recharge Hydraulic Starting Systems in a black start condition. The Kocsis hydraulic starting systems are the only one capable of recharging manually, making it the most favorable option when it comes to emergency starting applications.

Offered in numerous variations, Kocsis recharging pumps are driven by some form of prime mover (engine PTO or electric motor) to recharge the hydraulic starting system for starting attempts. Featuring a built-in unloading valve, Kocsis recharging pumps unload when system pressure has been reached. While in this state, the pump is fully lubricated and can run for hours without issue.

Hydraulic Tanks
Strumco offers a full line of reservoirs in various capacities including 4, 7.5, 12.5, and 15 gallons. Kocsis Hydraylic Tanks feature painted heavy gage steel with a fully removable lid for easy maintenance. The filler breather cap is made of high quality chrome plated steel. Each of the Kocsis Hydraulic Tanks includes an easily readable sight level gauge which conveniently allows the monitoring of oil in the system.

Control Valves
Strumco Air Starter offers several options when it comes to control valves. For those who are looking to actuate Kocsis hydraulic starting systems manually, the two main options include foot pedal and Bowden wire actuating valves. For operators interested in controlling starting system actuation via HMI (panel interface), KTI has many solenoid operated valves that meet industry requirements, including explosion proof.
Soft Engage Valves
The Kocsis soft engage valve is a pilot operated valve mounted between the control valve hydraulic starters within the starting system. As the system fluid passes through the control valve, a small amount of oil is delivered to the starter allowing the smooth engagement of the pinion gear and the flywheel ring gear. Once the gears mesh, the valve opens completely and delivers full system fluid. The result is a smooth, powerful engine start.
